Amber’s, Manchester
Amber’s opened in 2024 with an inclusive ethos at the top of their list. Amber’s has unannounced lineups and a zero filming tolerance, which assures a safe space for all.
The Amber’s team and Neuron Audio Visual visited NNNN HQ, Norway, in winter to meet Rune (CTO) and Torkel (CEO) to test the system, and, safe to say, a decision was made. Torkel (CEO) says, “We know that once people hear the system, there’s an instant connection.”
The two ceiling-mounted Amber’s custom-colour speakers at the front of the club are ON-MI, part of the ON series. This series is a collaboration between OJAS (Devon Turnbull) and NNNN, combining American heritage with Scandinavian design. The ON-MI system reaches down to 30Hz, and the OJAS multicell horn handles the high frequencies, covering everything needed and more across the full frequency range.
At the front, in Amber’s custom colour, stands the Devor 16. Using NNNN’s horn speaker patented technology, it reaches all the way down to 16Hz, more than taking care of the low end. The Devor 16 is a high-performance, horn-loaded infrabass and subwoofer system with two powerful 21″ drivers. The patented horn loading provides high sensitivity, excellent impulse response and low distortion levels, with a frequency response that extends into the realm of infrabass.
Comium 30, with its wide and even dispersion pattern, sits front and centre in the club as a front fill. Two Gage 60 units are mounted at the rear of the space. Gage 60 is a horn-loaded coaxial point source with a ported low-frequency extension. It delivers very high SPL performance in a small, lightweight enclosure. But don’t let the size fool you. It has reach, clarity, and covers from 60Hz and up.
